Seeing my menfolk dressed in their African garb....makes my heart swell with pride.

Someone in my circle commented on the fact that African baby's feet are always so clean and fresh - and looking at my 22-month-old I know this is true.

My Mum & Mother-in-Law dosing me up with homegrown remedies when I recently had 'flu (garlic, Vicks, lemon & honey featured prominently!).

Just being around people who look & act like me makes me happy.

everything. even in chaotic conditions we still excel and look good doing it.

Sunshine... can't stand the winters in europe, can see how it could breed a bad minded people.

Our warmth in general would be another, like we carry the sun with us where ever we go always radiant, part of our resilience.

Our hair, can do anything with it, spirals like the planets themselves, grows up like we're plants, organic, natures people.

Our spirituality.

Being a (right minded) African warrior with the ability to strike fear into lesser men. laugh.gif

Our Ancestor John Henrik Clarke once said that African hospitality was both our strength and weakness. I agree, but I never want us to lose touch with that indefatigable sense of humanity…

… because just when you think things are at their worst, if you have been good to others then from seemingly out of nowhere there will always be those remarkable Africans who upon seeing you down will selflessly rally round to help you back up, despite having little for themselves.

It is truly breathtakingly humbling.

I enjoy the community spirit amongst AA and the music is pretty neat too.
