About Us

The Ligali organisation was founded on the Kawanzaa principles Umoja (Unity), Nia (Purpose), Ujima (Responsibility) and Imani (Faith), We believe that identifying and reclaiming our original identity is an integral part of promoting the emotional, spiritual and mental progression of the African community in Western society. We are a Pan-African organisation and support the African Union.

2. Complain through Ligali if you have seen, heard or read a racially insensitive TV, Radio programme or advert. Also, register your concerns direct with the regulators as well as our media monitoring unit.

3. Highlight institutions and individuals guilty of racially insensitive practices.

4. Encourage young people to become involved with politics and social issues through art.

5. Debate and help solve issues that maintain inequality for the African British community by using internet forums, radio phone-in shows and media letter pages.

African British ?

It embraces all British nationals with antecedents originating directly from Africa or indirectly via African diasporic communities, such as those in the Caribbean and South America
