The first part of the Maafa Truth 2007 film has been released for distribution following its succesful premiere screenings in Bristol and London. Use the donation link below to claim your copy.

The documentary film which features contributions from community activists, project workers, teachers, historians and the African British business community confronts the myths about British slavery, presents the true history of the Maafa and African resistance whilst examining the politics of the government's bicentenary celebrations.

With the British government promoting an inaccurate revisionist version of the 1807 Abolition of the 'Slave Trade' Act, the Bristol based Operation Truth and sister group, the London based Truth 2007 Coalition, have collaborated to enable the Ligali organisation to produce this ground breaking educational resource. The two hour film was produced to ensure that the African perspective is no longer marginalised and the Truth about British involvement in the Maafa prevails in 2007 and beyond.

Told from an uncompromising African centered perspective the film includes contributions from Dr Abiola Ogunshola, emma pierre, Bro Hakim, Dr Hakim Adi, Henry Bonsu, Ms Serwah, Bro Omowale, Kwaku Bonsu, Kubara Zamani, Dr Kimani Nehusi, Bro Ldr Mbandaka, Michael Eboda, Onyeka, shaka Marday, Stephen Henry, Teleica Kirkland and Dr William Lez Henry.

The succesful national premieres of the film has attracted widespread acclaim. The London screening at South Bank University on Saturday 31st April attracted over six hundred people and featured debates, cultural performances, a young people's workshops and cultural stalls.
